Mark Frye, CPA, CGFM
Mr. Frye was an Audit Manager with the Association Services Group
of Johnson Lambert & Company, which specialized in providing
accounting, auditing, tax and consulting services to not-for-profit
trade associations. With a diverse background that includes extensive
experience with for-profit entities, Mr. Frye is also familiar
with large Federal Government entities. Additionally, he has knowledge
of Federal and state tax requirements, and since many of his clients
receive a substantial amount of Federal funds, he has experience
with the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Circular A-133 audit
and reporting compliance requirements.
Mr. Frye graduated summa
cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from
Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia and previously taught
as an adjunct professor at Strayer University in Manassas, Virginia.
He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Government
Financial Manager (CGFM) and a member of both the American Institute
of CPAs (AICPA) and the Association of Government Accountants (AGA).
Prior to Johnson Lambert & Company, Mr. Frye was an Audit Supervisor
with Feddeman & Company; another local firm dedicated to providing
first-class financial management services to not-for-profit trade
Associations. While at Feddeman & Company, he managed numerous
audits, tax and consulting engagements, including audits of related
educational foundations, retirement trust funds, for-profit subsidiaries,
partnerships and executive benefits.
Previously, Mr. Frye worked
as a Consultant for Booz|Allen|Hamilton and as an Audit Senior
for the Naval Audit Service. In these positions, he provided financial
auditing and management consulting services to large Federal Government
agencies and participated in the first-ever audit of the Department
of the Navy’s (DoN) agency-wide financial statements.
His
specific assignments included a consulting engagement to re-engineer
the Naval Supply System Command’s financial accounting system,
which is used to report financial data on the Navy’s enormous
supply inventory. Additionally, Mr. Frye completed the first audit
of the Naval Air System Command’s financial statements and
made numerous recommendations to improve the Navy’s financial
reporting of aircraft and air-maintenance support equipment.
PROFESSIONAL PROFILE
Bruce Wolcott, CPA, CVA
Bruce Wolcott is a member of the F&W executive committee and
small business services group. While his executive committee responsibilities
focus primarily on matching client issues with our professional
personnel development, his day-to-day capacity puts him directly
in front of clients as a business coach sharing ideas and experiences
with clientele and individuals in many different industries. Mr.
Wolcott brings many years of financial, accounting systems and
tax expertise to our small business practice.
Mr. Wolcott has a
Bachelor of Science degree with a major in accounting and minor
in social studies from Bob Jones University in Greenville, South
Carolina. Mr. Wolcott’s public accounting career started
with audits of non-profit charitable organizations and associations.
Mr. Wolcott’s most recent emphasis has been on small businesses
and their issues and tax concerns. From this experience, Mr. Wolcott
has helped businesses define their objectives related to management,
operating structure, and operating activities of non-profit and
for-profit organizations.
Mr. Wolcott has assisted many small businesses
in setup and analysis of accounting software systems. Important
to any business or non-profit organization is the information available
for business decisions. Mr. Wolcott has helped business owners
and managers define the information necessary for operating effectively
and efficiently. Additionally, he is an instructor for our QuickBooks
accounting seminars. Mr. Wolcott works closely with many clients
at their locations, using various accounting systems. His diverse
experience gives our clients informative feedback and system expertise
to get the job done.
Mr. Wolcott’s focus on small businesses
has led him to pursue the designation of Certified Valuation Analyst,
which qualifies him to perform valuations of business entities
or segments.
